Ripley's Believe it or Not Strikingly True Review & Giveaway

I wasn't sure what to expect when I learned I'd be able to check out the new Ripley's Believe It or Not Strikingly True book. The 8th edition to this popular series, Strikingly True is a great book for teens, tweens and reluctant readers. It is filled with stories of the weird, wild, and crazy. Stories like that of Jonathon Trappe who traveled across the English Channel attached to 55 helium balloons. Or some bizarre (and disgusting) food facts like "For every 3 1/2 oz of product, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration allows a certain amount of alien material before taking action. This includes up to three rodent hairs and 60 insect fragments in chocolate, five fly eggs, and one maggot in tomato juice, and one rodent hair and 30 insect parts in peanut butter." Blech! But it's stories like that that kept me and my 16 yr. old flipping pages.

This book would be a great gift for that hard to buy for teenager or adult even. It's available at most stores that books are sold. You can also follow Ripley on Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube.
